Call of Duty Black Ops 4: Zombies Alpha Omega Aether Returns Story Trailer! The Aether Story: In the beginning, there was the Aether and the Keepers. In time, the Keepers used the aether to create the Summoning Key , an item possessing reality-altering properties. However, they also stumbled across the Dark aether during their travels, on the edge of existence. This dark force would corrupt the Keepers experimenting with it. These corrupted Keepers would later be known as, the Apothicons. Among these Keepers was the “sweet and charming” individual who would become the Shadowman. Using the dark aether, the corrupted keepers constructed the aether pyramid, (The MPD ) which had the ability to harness the dark aether. Shortly after its creation, a war in Agartha (the “perfect world”) broke out between the two factions. The Apothicons, knowing they were due to lose this war, sent the MPD to a moon in one of the newly discovered realms, known as Earth. Having lost the war, the Apothicons were trapped and sealed within the dark aether that they so coveted. In time, they began to slowly change from their Keeper forms into hideous, demonic creatures. Interestingly, the Shadowman is the only known Apothicon able to switch from a human form to his Apothicon form. A new plan was enacted, a plan to escape the dark aether and take control of their former home, Agartha. By sending meteors of element 115 through portals into other distant realms, in the hope that the life forms found there would one day use the element to wage war amongst themselves. In doing so, ruptures would be created in space, allowing the Apothicons to escape. At some point, the Apothicons are finally released from their world and invade Earth. However, the Keepers and a group of 4, mythical knights wielding mystical elemental staffs of power known as Primis aid the kingdom of the enigmatic Wolf King and the Knights Templar step forth to oppose them, so beginning The Great War. Together, the Keepers and the forces of man drive back the Apothicons, sealing the abominations in the dark Aether once more.
