From IGN
“Microsoft Raising Prices on New, First-Party Games Built for Xbox Series X|S to $70 in 2023. Xbox is preparing to join other major games publishers in raising the prices of its major new first-party titles from $60 to $70. Beginning in 2023, games built for Xbox Series X|S including Forza Motorsport, Redfall, and Starfield will cost $69.99 USD at launch. While Xbox has noted that regional pricing may differ, it has not yet given specifics for other countries. The price increase is unsurprising, given that earlier this year Xbox head Phil Spencer said that the company wouldn’t be able to hold its prices forever, but that Xbox would not raise prices ahead of the 2023 holiday season.

From Video Games Chronicle

“Microsoft confirms details of 10-year offer to keep Call of Duty on PlayStation. Microsoft president Brad Smith has provided details on the company’s offer to keep the Call of Duty franchise on PlayStation for at least a decade. “The main supposed potential anticompetitive risk Sony raises is that Microsoft would stop making Call of Duty available on the PlayStation. But that would be economically irrational.

“A vital part of Activision Blizzard’s Call of Duty revenue comes from PlayStation game sales. Given the popularity of cross-play, it would also be disastrous to the Call of Duty franchise and Xbox itself, alienating millions of gamers.

“That’s why we’ve offered Sony a 10-year contract to make each new Call of Duty release available on PlayStation the same day it comes to Xbox. We’re open to providing the same commitment to other platforms and making it legally enforceable by regulators in the US, UK and European Union.”

From Pure Xbox

“There’s Apparently A ‘Rift’ At The FTC Over Xbox’s Activision Blizzard Deal.
It was reported recently that the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) was likely to file a lawsuit against Microsoft’s attempt acquisition of Activision Blizzard, but there’s now “hope” that the merger will be approved by the FTC instead. It’s suggested by “DC Insiders” that a potential 2-2 tie in a four-person vote isn’t something that the FTC Chair is likely to risk, as it would “throw Khan’s authority over the agency into question” and “effectively OK the deal” anyway.”

From Geeky Gadgets

“Game Awards Nominees available to play with Xbox Game Pass. Xbox gamers wishing to enjoy a few new games, might be interested to know that the nominees from The Games Awards are now available to play via both Xbox and PC Games Pass. 16 of this year’s Game Awards nominees can be played right now with Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass. Including A Plague Tale: Requiem, Dune: Spice Wars, No Man’s Sky, Return to Monkey Island, and more are available now. Starfield, nominated for Most Anticipated Game, will arrive next year.”

From Pure Xbox

“NFS Unbound Dev Says Leaving Xbox One Behind Led To ‘Transformative Racing Experience’ Need for Speed Unbound is the first NFS title to arrive after the current-gen console launch in late 2020, with the teams at EA and Criterion deciding to drop last-gen systems with this release. While the development studio initially wanted to go with a cross-gen release for Unbound, it believed the decision to drop Xbox One and PS4 was ultimately justified when players went hands-on with the game.”
